ISP LAUNCHES NEW LIFEJACKET FOR TANDEM PARACHUTISTS

A compact, ultra-slim lifejacket for use by tandem parachutists has been developed by International Safety Products Ltd of Bootle, UK. Developed to meet the needs of Airborne Forces personnel, it is extremely compact and is designed to be worn high on the body by both parachutists. The unique design includes a split front that permits full forward and downward vision while remaining clear of chest-worn reserve packs. Although it was developed to meet the specific needs of tandem parachutists, the new product can also be used in any situation where equipment being carried demands the use of a non-restrictive lifejacket.

 
The Parachutist’s Ultra Slim lifejacket has been designed as an emergency abandonment or constant wear lifejacket specifically for airborne operations in all climates and geographical areas. The lifejacket is compatible with most types of parachute harness and consists of an inflatable stole with high visibility reflective patches. It features an extremely compact outer zipped valise, an adjustable webbing harness and a manually operated gas inflation system that can also be topped-up orally. The lifejacket will provide 170 Newtons of buoyancy as standard but is also available in a 275 Newton option for when heavy loads are being carried.

The new lifejacket is manufactured from durable synthetic materials to extremely high defence standards at the ISP factory in Bootle. The new slim-line lifejacket is already in use with forces in the Far East and full pre-purchase integration trials have been conducted successfully by the UK MoD.
